The annual Indian Summer festival is almost with us! To help with the celebrations the CQApp has produced a handy festival guide. Simply download the new version of the CQApp for iPhone and Android and click on the Indian Summer banner on the home screen. Be it outdoor yoga in Orton Square, or Family Fun Day's at Curve - you'll now know exactly what's going on during this great Leicester festival.

Welcome to the CQApp

Thanks for downloading the new CQApp. in the two days since the launch we have received lots of positive feedback form the 100+ people who downloaded it. As we said to many of you at the event, this is only the first stage in what we hope will become a invaluable guide to what's happening in and around Leicester's Cultural Quarter. Over the next few months you can expect to see many more features and a few surprises. Please keep the app on your phone and remember to tell others about it. The best is yet to come.

Affective Digital Histories in the CQ

Affective Digital Histories in the CQ

Two exciting new smartphone apps have been developed as part of the Affective Digital Histories project. Using specially commissioned soundscapes and creative writing, Hidden Stories and Sounds of the Cultural Quarter use the latest locative technology to deliver an immersive experience for visitors to Leicester's Cultural Quarter. Location-specific content - sounds from past and present, poetry, plays and narrative - is unlocked as visitors explore the area, helping to re-imagine urban history.

The St George's Festival

The St George's Festival

Enjoy the annual family friendly festival on Orton Square featuring a special appearance from the underwater adventurers, The Octonauts.

There will be music, dance and live performances on the square and in venues across the Cultural Quarter, plus the chance to meet Tiny, a friendly baby stegosaurus.

The festival promises a day of non-stop entertainment for all the family, full of activities to try out and fun things to do including the fancy dress parade of knights and princesses and a dinosaur trail around the Cultural Quarter.
